"MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Attempts to Fold a Well-prepared Rand Paul With the Race Card"
By: Wesley Gray
------- Rand Paul, the third child of Libertarian hero Ron Paul and a self-proclaimed "constitutional conservative", won the Republican Senatorial primary by a 23.4% margin in Kentucky on May 18, 2010. Obviously, the mainstream media had a total freak-out and began playing the race card against Paul immediately. MSNBC, which I personally tack as "Comedy Central Pt. 2", was obviously a major player in this role. Paul appeared on Rachel Maddow's show, well prepared, he knew what questions were coming.Maddow than immediately brings up racism. Paul claims that he "abhors racism" and is happy that desegregation was finally accomplished, though he is disappointed it took 100+ years to desegregate the south. Maddow asks if a PRIVATE business can refuse service to non-whites and homosexuals. Rand sticks to his guns (no pun intended) showing that there is a difference between private and public institutions. He explains that though he hates racism and discrimination, in the private sector, it is a 1st-Amendment right to run a business however you please. (My own opinion right here: Such a business would fail miserably in todays day and age, rightfully so.)
The 1st Amendment allows the right for anyone to say and believe in any DUMB-ASS thing they feel like saying or believing in, racist or not. Rand Paul sticks to the constitution and he sticks it to Maddow in the videos you can watch below.
